What to bring to a day retreat

Cushions, blankets and chairs

Each one-day retreat will be a day of sustained meditation. If you would prefer to sit on a chair there are a number available. If you prefer to sit on the floor you will need to bring a blanket / cushion or meditation stool with you. The halls are heated but uncarpeted, so please bring warm clothing, and a mat or rug plus meditation stool or cushions if you wish to sit on the floor. There are also chairs available – these are the plastic stackable kind, so you may wish to bring a cushion or two for padding.

Warm clothing

Wear or bring warm clothing as your body may cool down during sitting periods on day retreats.

Vegetarian lunch to share

Please bring a vegetarian dish (no meat or fish) to share for lunch. Plates and cutlery will be provided. The meal will be in silence.

Special note: On John Peacock's study day in June please bring your own packed lunch.
